How to Airbnb: Mexico

THE ASK

AIRBnB approached Artex with a daunting proposition: create a video explaining How to AirBnB to Mexican consumers. Only shot in actual AirBnBs on the Pacific coast of Mexico. In a little
under three weeks. Friendly, inviting, but high in production values and with a high end feel, this might have been a problem for lesser production companies, but not Artex.

APPROACH

While cinematography is important, conveying a fairly complex Airbnb process isn’t the easiest thing to do quickly- let alone with a movie-style flair. Our writers and producers made a solid concept script and style, and the rest is history. We managed to create a “How to” video that looks great, has our touch of video production flair, and keeps viewer engagement high. With our short timeframe, we made sure to quickly get everything done under one roof, and couldn’t have done it without our whole team onboard.

RESULTS

AIRBNB was quite satisfied with the video, from style to cinematography, but they were blown away by the fact that we got it done on such a short time frame with so little oversight. Artex is a team of professionals who get the job done without handholding like some companies need. Our work has gone on to not only expand Airbnb’s Mexican market appeal, but it received two silver American Advertising Federation ADDY Awards (2016) in the process. Not too bad for thee weeks of work.
